Nap, and the world naps with you

Emily snores.

It's just a soft little whistle, hardly noticeable unless things are quiet. It's really pretty cute. I'd post an mp3 file, except setting up to record would probably wake her.

The boys do not snore. Which is good, since Billy purrs loudly enough to hear him across the room. If he snored, the seismologists at MIT might notice.

Home work

When I was in college, I would fall behind on my homework in certain courses. (Okay, I didn't do it.)

This would make me duck class until I did it.

I'll skip the intermediate steps, but suffice to say, I took 11 years to get my degree.

I haven't been posting.

This makes me feel like I should catch up with such and such a topic (weights, Photo Friday, litter messes etc), but I don't have time that big a project, and I don't want to post something random so posts aren't out of order.

If we're not careful, it could be 11 years before our next post.

But the cats are happy and fed and warm and doing cat fu and sleeping in sunny windows.

More later, without trying to make it a big thing...

The more or less weekly weigh-in

Not much change since the last weigh-in. Emily comes in at 6 lbs 14.5 oz, almost back to her pre-illness weight. Billy tips the scales at 14 lbs 6.5 oz, and his brother at 13 lbs 1 oz.

Dieting for health

Yay! All the various feline diets seem to be doing what they're supposed to. Emily is stable since the last weigh-in at 6 lbs 8.5 oz. Whitey lost a little, at 13 lbs 1.5 oz, and Billy lost a little more at 14 lbs 4 oz.

Photo Extra: Corporate Morale Officer

Earlier this month, my day job stretched into the evening. However, at least the temporary Corporate Morale Officer, Joey, was around. It doesn't show in the picture, but Joey lost a rear leg many years ago. Despite that, he's a happy gentle puppy. I hope he visits again.

Photo Extra: Law and Order (Feline Victims Unit)

Some cats work harder than others.

Some cats, like Fred, protect and serve all of feline kind.

Photo Friday: Just the Pants, Ma'am

Billy likes pants. We don't know why, he just does. His favorite spot on the bed is on top of Drew's jeans, even if the jeans are only resting there for a few minutes before being put on. So when I spread out a pair of mine (actually part of my aikido practice gear) on the end of the bed closest to his beloved feathers, he was in kitty heaven:

mad, bad, and dangerous to meow

Billy continued his shelf exploring yesterday. This time he knocked off a lamp stored on a lower shelf of the main cat storage bookcase in the dining room (what were we thinking?).

The result one was very broken bulb. Fortunately the crash scared Billy away long enough for Katherine to charge downstairs from her office to find out what happened and clean up before we got cut paws or worse.
